How did you get past the Cache Bay Ranger station on Saganaga Lake as you entered Quetico Prov Park without seeing me!!
I have worked that ranger station for 22 seasons and have shared meals & stories with several cross Canada trekers. I lent Max Finkelstein a pair of runners which he sent back.
Readers who haven't been to Quetico & would condsider it, please do. Any piece of wilderness is a jewel on this earth and needs to be recognized as such.
Seth you are doing a remarkable job with your quest. Oh how I hope your dedication reaches the masses of people who aren't reading this and take note of the value of life in water.

Excellent web site for your adventure & to promote your cause. I lived in Peace River, AB and Inuvik, NT for years and canoed some parts of your route on various trips in northern Alberta, in the Mackenzie Mountains, and in the barrenlands north of Great Bear Lake. Most of the water-related issues in western Canada boil down to a fight to stop the provinces and the Conservative government in Ottawa from signing deals which sell our water to the US, now that they're running out of water quickly in their southwestern states. Best wishes.

Too bad you paddled straight through Pukaskwa. Being an employee there I have the oppurtunity to boat up and down that coastline everyday and no doubt passed you in June sometime. For your particular interest you might want to take a gander at what is currently happening with the White River damn project. By the time the dam is completed next year, the river will only be able to be paddled in the spring, which is a big blow to the tourism of the park and the river's ecosystem itself. In any case, when you have more time you should definitely come back to Pukaskwa and spend more time both along its shoreline and the interior, which is the true heart of the north shore. Good luck and safe journeys.

Looks like you're off now. I'm beginning to regret bailing on ya...but at least I can live vicariously through the website. Maybe I'll skip over from the Yukon and meet you on the Mackenzie next summer. Keep your eyes on the prize, and if you drop your keys in a rapid, don't jump in after them, 'cuz, man, they're gone.
Thanks for inspiring us all,
Adam

Seth- Great to see a kindred spirit hitting the water trail once again. Nice to see your doing it for a cause. Good Job! I will be following. I had the pleasure in 98 to solo from Ft. Mcmurrey to Tuktoyaktuk which is a part of your route. What a great route and wonderful landscape!!! In 04 I was raising awareness for American Rivers Org. here in the states and paddled across a portion of the U.S similar to your river awarenss plans. Play it safe, one stroke at a time will get you to the ocean. Dont let the slow pace and never ending wind get to you. The past is history, the future a mystery, this moment is a gift, thats why it's called the present!

Seth, I uploaded the photos of part of your journey from Thunder Bay to Montreal via Vittoria. That was exhausting & challenging but nothing compared to this new 8000 KM journey by paddle & foot (with incredible weights on your back). This is an amazing test of will power & stamina. Enjoy your trip! Your family is extremely proud of you, your commitment & your cause. We will be checking your journal regularly.

What an awesome thing you are doing!!! When I was in Dominican Republic 4 years ago water was certainly one thing you could not take for granted. I was lucky there was water for a shower in the house I stayed and it was only a trickle, others didn't have any. Best of luck on your journey!!!
